The best pepper crabs at...
Some of the boys are always kind enough to let me tag along to some of their outings with them. Afterall... letting 1 little girl "leeching" along in an all-boys adventure, could ruin the day for them, or... bring inconvenience and some awkwardness.
And for every time they bring me along... I always make sure I'm on my bestest behavior not to ruin anyone's day (and my dear husband's), becoz I know sometimes one just wanna have fun with his/her friends, without any significant half tagging along.
I used to whine how James wouldn't let me tag along to their little adventures up north for some nice old-school makans. In reality... I was just whining up to him for the sake of whining and not really becoz he didn't bring me along. (Aiyah... you know lah... girls are always manja mah! And in this household... I have to fight with 5 other pussies for his sayang...)
Imagine how excited I was when I'm invited once, and the 2nd time to go crab feasting in the ulu deep of JB!
The best part... Derek was also teaching me the route so next time I can go there on my own in case I couldn't resist to the intense must-have-it-or-lose-sleep-and-sense-till-I-eat-it cravings I experience at times.
Now... I just pray hard I can still remember the landmarks, given I'm notorious for being super forgetful!

Here we go... ^_^

This is the secret location... the far land in the middle is somewhere in Singapore.

This is the place where good food awaits :)

And the feast of the night...
Pssst... paiseh har... I like to keep this location's a secret... so I can enjoy great cheap food here without being "spolit-market" by the infamous fellow countrymen. (Eh... afterall... this is still on the internet... I dunno who else might be reading in lor!)
However... you'll never know in future whether I will drive up there myself with unknown who lor... heehee :)
The all new E250.
Weeks ago, my dad dragged my arse to test drive a car to prove his reasons from my naggings.
That wasted my entire morning and having to slave through the night after to make up for the lost time I had spent learning "how to buy-cum-test-drive a brand new car".
(Eh paiseh har... it's actually "why he should get this new car".)
Weeks after, he excitedly dragged my arse once more, along with my mum's, to do the most important process, "the takeover". (Btw, my mum was more of wanting to tag along excitedly. Either ways, didn't make much difference to me.)
To be honest, that wasted my entire morning too.
Luckily, this time, I don't have to slave through any night for the lost time.
Though I'm not very that impressed with the new car, as it wasn't that much of a huge difference to me when I compared both super powerful (and with huge arses) machines to my boy. I have to admit, it was damn pretty cool to have sunroof and cruising with the sunroof opened.
Obviously in my lifetime, I'll never be treated so VIP-ly at the Cycle & Carriage again and again on my own. So... I always make sure I get all the advantages at each visit down.... heh :)

Remember to ask your Sales Representative/Agent,
for your free cup of premium cappuccino and their famous cheesecake.
I kid you not... they have serious good coffee selection and better than average desserts there.

This is the old boy.

One last check before handing them the old boy for the trade-in.

Time to say bye-bye to the old boy.

And this, is the new kid in the carpark block.

The intense focus on my dad's face when he took the 1st corner to exit the building, becoz the new boy a tad longer and has a bigger arse. And there's my mum making the brand new car feels homely again...

And that's me... in the backseat enjoying the new sunroof.
Of coz, my dad's in super good mood today. An expensive Japanese lunch, a brand new wallet/coin pouch/key pouch for my mum, a possible ridiculously expensive Mercs keychain that caught my eye earlier, and a venti orange frappe for me, and he even left me alone in my cubicle to do my work in peace for the rest of the day.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to swindle him into buying me a brand new GOLF GTI or EOS, like Huah suggested.
He maybe on cloud nine... one of his feet is still rooted to the earth sturdily.
DAMN!
Under the Dining Table...
I came home one night not able to find the little boy greeting at the door as usual. And I went into panic mode when I kept calling out and he was nowhere to be found. After 10 mins of looking frantically, a small sad meow was heard and I find him sleeping comfortably under the dining table, and since then, he's been cooping there... no more greetings at the door... no more responding to his name...
Tonight, I found out why he enjoys being under the table so much...

"Go away... Leave me to sleep...."
Gentle cool breeze sweeps from kitchen and out to the dining window, yet kept warm from the cushion of the dinning chair. Ahh... such good life... I wish I'm a cat that belongs to this household at times...
Baa Baaaaaa Black What???
I spent 1 hour each day practicing on the little sound-maker for the whole of last week, whether in the stuffy storeroom or out in the open, if I put in hard work everyday, I'll get pass quickly the "awkward chicken slaughtering" stage and get my pose right. Or so I thought....
The surprise came... when I stepped into class today confidently, to my horrifying shock, I had it all wrong!!
It seems I have been practicing holding my bow wrongly. It's to grip with the tips of the fingers not on the tip of the fingers she corrects me. Came back, another 30 minutes of cramping fingers, especially my pinkie. And with the newly less-than-5-mins-installed shoulder rest, everything was feeling chat-chat again.
My shoulder refuse to recongised the new piece now, which helps me to support the violin. But my collar-bone seems to appreciate the aid of the rest as I no longer feel any soreness there.
Then again, my left elbow was protesting in numbing aches as now I have to rest my left hand in its proper position. However, my right elbow is more at ease with the newly levitated height, and I no longer moving the entire arm to bow... mostly my forearm was moving up and down.
As if trying to come terms with the corrected postures and splitting my attention 5 ways wasn't challenging enough, she wanted me to read and play. "It's easy" she coax, "all open notes" she insisted. By now my head starts to cloud.
Though I can read perfectly, but reading and playing fast without breaking or lifting the bow and watching out of my left fingers curving over the neck , and my left elbow tuck, and my right fingers grip, and my right elbow pivot, and my balancing of the bow onto each string, and the straight direction of each bowing, and the balance of the new shoulder rest, and the position of my chin resting on the chin rest, seems all rather overwhelming for the last 10 minutes of doing an entire 8 bars.
I really wonder at this point, am I really ready to do a piece of 8 bars??
I'm getting confuse and more confuse by the time I completed the 8 bars thrice. Even her instructions became fuzzy at the end. But I swore I did digest her words in. Somehow at times I just couldn't understand her, becoz at times she contradicts herself. And she seems to be confusing me with another student of hers.
Looks like I got to put 3 hours or so a day to practice. Coz now, I have to get used to the violin with the new shoulder rest, using a new bow and get comfy with all the new positions. Oh... and be well versed in Baa Baa Black Sheep by next week too.
A good relaxing day is...
There are many methods to a good relaxing day. It really depends on whether you feel up to whatever choices you made. Spontaneouslity has always been my favorite choice :)
It's been a loooong time I had highteas on a non-weekend day. I forgot how enjoyable it was to be sitting at the bar slurping on a cocktail (in my case a mocktail) on a Friday afternoon, enjoying each other's company and gossiping before being seated at the table.
The last time I been to Hyatt's hightea was in 2005 with my girls. It was amusing how they reacted to some of the most delectable food that was served. And this time round, I was interested to see how my cus reacts.
Sometimes, a meal became more enjoyable knowing that everyone at the table were savoring at the same enjoyment high as you do :)
And sometimes, you deserve a good meal after such a devastating stress you have gone through to uplift your spirit :)

A Virgin Strawberry Daiquri.

The Savories.

The Sweets.
I had a wonderful time that day :)
Sometimes I wish we had such chances much earlier in our younger days...
Thank you so much!! ^.^
The Starbucks LOVE Project
Being a huge Starbucks fan of their lovely Peppermint Mocha Frappe and the regular Mocha Frappe fix, I try to return some goodwill to the society through getting my favorite cup of drink.
Last Christmas, I was struggling to try getting some (STARBUCKS) RED tumblers as Xmas pressies for my SsIL off Starbucks' own RED site, starbucksloveproject.com, I came across this amazing video.
"Starbucks invited musicians from all over the world to sing together at the same time to raise awareness for AIDS in Africa. In that one breathtaking moment, musicians from 156 countries played "All You Need is Love" together. Watch now, as musicians from all around the world come together and share a song.
Join in by lending your own voice to http://StarbucksLoveProject.com. Watch streaming video from countries around the world and then join in by singing All You Need is Love yourself. For each video submitted, Starbucks will make a contribution to the Global Fund to help fight against AIDS in Africa. You can also help increase the Starbucks contribution to the Global Fund by submitting a drawing to the Love Gallery.
The global sing-along is part of our continuing efforts to help fight AIDS in Africa. In just one year in partnership with (RED)™, Starbucks has generated money equivalent to more than 7 million days of medicine to help those living with HIV in Africa."
This, is the power of a globalizing corporation.
30 minutes of fingers cramping...
The long awaiting moment to realize a long forgotten dream was so intense and exciting, that sent me to be cramping up throughout the entire 30 minutes of class, because I just couldn't relax my "unknown" muscles on my fingertips.
It's been long forgotten how I have used my fingertips to make music (especially on my pipa). But then again, THAT was another set of different pain and aches I had to suffer through my childhood to master the instrument.
Tonight's class was all introductory... The pose of holding the violin. The pose of holding the bow. The four strings, in G D A E. The up and down bowing technique and position. And making 'non-chicken-slaughtering' sounds.

The last part was easy. Even my teacher was amaze I could make good sounding sounds out of the 4 strings without screeching or breaking, within the first few minutes of the class. Except... when I started to cramp up from holding the bow long enough, resulting in putting some pressure on the bow onto the string, that probably shattered her good impression of me.
Besides the fingers cramping up, I'm feeling a little sore on my collar bone too since I didn't have a shoulder rest and my collar bone is pretty boney and protruding out. So when I had to balance the violin (without my left hand helping) between my chin and my shoulder, naturally my collar bone has to take in the pressure from all those gripping.
Nobody in the school knows I have music background. I pretended I didn't know how to read notes and not recognizing the bean sprouts on the book. I wanna start from scratch. I wanna have a proper formal training. That's why I'm opting for recitals, examinations and performing... And I think I'm getting alittle ambitious... heehee :)
Now... onto practicing how to hold my bow properly with the help of my once trusted friend, the pen.
Who has a violin?
I think by now a few handful already knew this year will be my turn to study (kekkeke we seems to take turns studying in my group of girls). I'll be taking up violin and will be taking examinations for both theory and practical to as high as I can achieve.
I have opt to take up violin over piano or guitar as
1. I have no $$$ to get a piano to be at home to practice,
2. I can only afford to study one instrument at a time (I took a year to save up for 1 term and a new violin),
3. I didn't have so much interest in guitar compared to a violin...
To me... it's too similar to playing a pipa, only the guitar is not played upright.
Anyway, I have been sourcing for which violin I should get for an amateur for a week now. But the more I look and the more I research, the more I get confuse. So, I decided to trouble my old music teacher, who was responsible for all my education in Chinese flute and Pipa since I was 8 years old, to help me out in this frustrating matter.
I'm always shy and vex in asking for favors. But in this case, I thought why not. He's a very accomplished professional cellist, and has been in the Singapore Chinese Orchestra for many many years. I'm sure he will give me loads of tips as he always do.
My mother chuckled at my silliness and uttered with a hint of sourness "You're one of his favorite student, he will surely help". (She took up pipa under him too and was not given as much opportunities as I have received from him. But come on... she has other commitments in the orchestra and I have none. So.. who's to blame? Really?? -shrugs )
The kind man, who also missed out on my wedding banquet due to his own commitments to the SCO, end up giving me his old violin, that he started out on before he progress to cello (which was one of my ultimate dream too, to progress to cello once I mastered the violin, and no I didn't know that beforehand prior to this).
So now, the $ for a new violin retains and I'll use it to either pay for my 2nd term or continuing saving up to get a better violin when I outgrown this one. Whichever the case, I can't wait for tomorrow night's class to commence... oooh... the excitement!

Maybe becoz its an old violin. The sounds it makes are lovely and solid.
I believe this little sound-maker is as old as I am... or even older!! O.o
New Blogskin: Into the World of Classical Music
Immerse into the world of classical music...
That sounds so dreamy... and impossible in the real world.
But its one of my resolution for this year...
So I have already begun by taking classical violin and started listening to classical melodies, and I'm reflecting it here on my new blogskin too heeheehee.
And yes... today was another 'tons-of-work-piling-but-I-absolutely-got-no-mood-to-play-catchup' day. This entire week has been rather painful to get through... Obviously, my mind is still in the festive partying mood. But my hands keep writing and typing coz I got to work.
I'm close to 1 hour before I knock-off. And I took this 1 hour to quickly do up a new blogskin. I'm getting lazier and lazier... coz I'm just reusing the same codes for the past few designs already. All I did was photoshopped a new background and change calculations in the code. All achievable within 1 hour.
Yesh... I'm still in favor of the pinkness. This time I wanna go pastel, soft and girle :)
On the 12th day of Christmas...
We were talking about the true meanings to the catchy commercialized song, "12 days of Christmas" last night. Guess what... today is the 12th day of Christmas!
Normally I'll have the Christmas tree up at the beginning of November, and don the entire house throughout the month. Then I'll always take everything off 1 week after the New Year, without realizing I have been doing so around or after the 12th day of Christmas. Now, that gives a whole new meaning behind my idea of wanting to keep the decor up till 1 week after the New Year, beside admiring the pretty colors in the house.
Hahaha I know today's entry's alittle incoherent and pretty randoming...
I'm still in post-party blues and have absolutely no energy in doing anything >.<
Since I was clearing the photos in my G9 today... I decided to post up the random pictures of the Xmas decor of 2009! (something I promise Qing I'll show her my color theme.) And I'm still damn proud of my choice of "Lush Purple & Shining Gold" theme, even though I realized it was THE color theme of 2009 when I was sourcing for new Xmas decoration items and was frustrated becoz everywhere were out of the nicer purple decor items. Oh well... life still goes on...
Setting up the Xmas Tree

Let's take out the Xmas tree to prep for Xmas...
Whiskers was all excited seeing the Xmas tree out again...
And this is how we setup the tree...
And this is the very cat that's responsible for killing the tree,
by pulling the branches out one by one...
And this one follows suit...
lucky he's more interested in the broken branches than the tree itself!
Tree all setup. Non-lighted & Lighted up.
When the house in full Xmas decor...
Whiskers welcomes you :)

There's one reason why I wanted full length glass panels...
To spray snow on them!! Season's Greetings!!
This is how the front area looks like...
As usual I always hang something above the doorway...
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get some decent mistletoes this year...
I decided to spray some pattern on the glass door so guests won't walked into it...
Living Area...
Left: Xmas pressies for us from our family. / Right: Xmas pressies for guests from us.
This year's color theme has been extended to pressie wrappings too :)
Dinning Area...
The fun, the laughter, the Wiiiiiiii!
Last night's potluck was such a great way to end the festive partying mood.
A night of great food, fantastic company, an entertaining baby and jousts of party gaming!
As usual, I'll leave it to pictures and videos as self-explanatory of the night. ^_^

2010: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
May all have a better time ahead in this brand new year,
and a better health, wealth and more opportunities that comes your way!
I've been partying since the eve of Christmas Day until now, and tonight's dinner will mark the end of all partying and then it will be time for some post-partying blues and some withdrawal symptoms from over-partying!
But it was sure a great fun to bid the old bad year away and welcoming the brand new year in a big bang with hopes of better times, a more comfortable life, and a huge flow of $$$ flowing (note* not rolling) into my pockets! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
I'm alittle groggy from limited sleep since the eve of the eve of the New Year till now, and the adrenaline rush has kept me going. I just got back from my in-laws, and since the house chef is now prepping for tonight's potluck, I'm taking alittle break here and will input a simple entry for the brand new year.
I'm not gonna re-cap the year of 2009 with words nor photos. Like many, 2009 wasn't that a great year for me. I wanna look forward for this brand new year! (I do regularly read back all my old entries to remind me of the past, and I have tons of unpublished entries and I dun see the need to publish them anymore...)
Alittle cliche and unusual for me to make known my this year's resolutions...
Here goes...
(not in any order)
1. to fulfill an once forgotten dream and fully immersed back into my comfort zone: classical music.
Long ago, when my dad cruelly rejected my desire to study music and forced me to change my applications for my diploma education, I abruptly stop producing lovely sounds out of anger. Later, I told myself that for a brand new decade of my life, (once I've gained independence to my life and financially), I will fulfill this dream and spend that decade dedicating to achieve what I dreamt of achieving.
2. for health reasons... to lose some weight, stop sugary drinks (starting from gassy drinks), more H2O intake and a healthier choice of diet.
Lately, my stomach has been rather sourish, and I'm worried that my ulcers may have come back haunting me. So for obvious reasons, I must stop all gassy drinks (especially coke), and eventually sugary drinks, because that's the vice that stands between me working hard to become fitter but unable to lose much weight due to the overload of sugar in my diet. And lower intake of sugary drinks will encourage me to a higher intake of H2O, which I'm not so fond of...
Since November, I started drinking milk again, and tends to consume more food that contains natural folic acid. I think my body is self-prepping for the next stage of my life without me knowing. I think my biological clock IS ticking! LOL
3. welcoming another cat to the house.
Once I told my husband that by hook or by crude, when I get to 30, our lifestyle has to change. I knew myself too well. Enough said.
And that's my resolutions for the year of 2010!
As usual... I try not to be greedy... set of threes are much easier to achieve.
And I always managed to achieve a minimum of 75% of my resolutions every year! :)
Aahhh... the Leonid meteor Shower!
It was reported that this year's Leonid meteor shower would be a spectacular show of celestial proportions, with best seats to watch in Asia (source).
That would mean... we get to watch in Singapore tonight, right now! - cheering in excitement
I still remembered in my toddler days staying in the old house with my grandparents, I found myself insisting to tag along with my 3rd uncle whom sometimes would climb up to the roof top of the old house (illegally and with no safety devices) to watch the night sky. And yesh... those were the days where light pollution wasn't such an issue when comes to night-gazing. And boy... I would often amazed by the sparkling lights in the sky, thinking how did they get up there so high??
Anyway... I'm determined to watch the spectacular show, hoping to experience what I have experienced as a little girl. I've prepped in the afternoon for a pinic basket, with wollen mat, hand-cranked light lantern, some glow sticks, a compass, a pair of binoculars, a bottle of Villa M, tripod and camera, along with the husband. Unfortunately, as the evening approach, the husband had to rush work through the night, and the sky was filled with thick grey angry rain clouds with heavy lighting strikes.
The first peak of the meteor shower was estimated to happen at midnight. Sticking myself far out of my dining room window, I managed to see 3 shooting stars, in white with no trailing tails, in a small patch of clear sky in the mids of the huge and thick clouds within 10 mins or so.
I told James with confidence, that I would probably see more later at the 2nd peak, roughly about 5am onwards.
UPDATE: eh... its 6am now, I havent exactly see a shower of shooting stars. All I managed to catch were a few white and blue stars falling. Though they didn't have trailing tails, I'm very sure they were part of the meteor showers, and I'm very sure the angle I'm looking from was straight on, hence I'm not able to see the full trails as expected. Funny how things work... though we had one of the best place to view the shower, the weather wasn't kind to let you see it. I was lucky to be trawling the heavily clouded sky with my binoculars, staying put at each patch of clear sky long enough to catch a few falling stars. Not an experience I expected to catch a meteor shower. But a great realization of how lucky I am to be able to do so right at the comfort of my house. And yes... it is true that I have to camp at my air-con ledge to do so... kekekekeke!
翼をください (Tsubasa wo Kudasai)
Since many plans have been foiled over the weekend... James suggested we go on a movie date since we haven't done so in such a looooooong while :)
So... we managed to catch Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance last night. I dun have much comments on the film itself since the film is a remake/re-imagining of the original anime series. As usual... super morbid as always. EVERYBODY died left right center... Animation was fantastic as expected! Just that it wasn't what we wanted to round off the day of James' birthday. (Should have seen that coming... -.-" Yesterday was such a nice good romantic day!!)
However... a song at the last 10 minutes of the film, reminded me how much I used to love it. This is one of those song that I want to play on the violin once I mastered the instrument! Thought I would share this beautiful famous song with everybody. (It's now playing in my little 60s tube-box, bottom left.)
Below are the lyrics to the song, in kanji & romanji...
(ok this section is more for myself kekekeke)

HAPPY TWEET-TWEET DAY!!
Today is James' birthday! Happy Birthday Love!!

Had planned a few things to celebrate, one of which was a huge feast in JB. But the weather did not allowed us for a safe drive to the ulu ulu kampung-ish destination, rumored to be one of the best place to have seafood & crab-feast without burning a huge hole in all our pockets. Another was a surprise, a mango cake that I've to sneaked under his nose. To which... I think he already had figured out, becoz James is one person... hard to surprise!
Since last night's feast postponed to... maybe... next weekend? The cake can't wait. (Am waiting for the dude to wakeup so I can sing birthday song and he can cut the cake. Heehee...)
p/s: Upon many's recommendations, I decided to go with Prima Deli's Mango cake. It was average... um... not superb, but standard lah... Thanks anyway to those who suggested so many places :)
Wii-ing the Raving Rabbids...
It's pretty strange at times for someone who hated the Wii system so much, to get me Wii accessories. It's just like for the same person who feels the same for Macintosh stuffs, would also willing to fork out ridiculous moolah for the expensive Apple products, (to which in his opinions, he could get much better deal for the same kind of gadget with the cost of that apple equivalent).
I know... it's all in the name of lurve... :)
Out of no reasons (yesh... we're all so used to give gifts for a reason, ie. birthday), while we went out for a quick lunchie the other day... my dear husband came back with 2 Wii related items in hand, all without me noticing (!).
For one of the items, he thought I probably need a (rather amusing designed) battery charging station since recently I've been buying a substantial number of cheap AA battery packs. And the other, becoz it's sooooo darn cute (for bluffing people to think its the real controller).

Yes... my husband's pretty humorous at times. Don't you think so?
Robbie is BACK!! Yay!!!
Robbie Williams is back!
This is crazy! Not too long ago, we were talking about how sad it was that Robbie is no longer producing good solid old-school pop songs, and that his last album Rudebox was such an experimental piece and disappointing! And now... it seems a new album Reality Killed the Video Star will be out in about a month's time! (source)
Ooh I can't wait!
My prince of pop is back :)
Ain't he still as cute as ever... charming as ever... funny as ever... and naughty as ever...?
The story of the white (or aluminum) elephant...
The iMac 24"
The iMac 24"
My self-built PC of nearly 6 years old, finally gave way and decide to go kaput when I was saving my 2 days worth of work onto the thumbdrive.
I'm still hoping with enough rest (of dunno how many days), it might be alive again even for 1 hr, enough for me to backup those few days of data. Which worked pretty well the last few times it refused to startup.
Anyways... since we're sooo broke, with last year's bonus meant for the next person to upgrade or overhaul a brand new system (which was supposed to be my turn, after missing 2 turns already) being used to built a brand new powerful work-cum-personal machine for my dear husband. Becoz his old system takes 2 hours to copy a 4gb SD card, which... eventually became a super powerful gaming system. - shake head
James had no choice but to allow me to use the iMac as my personal computer since I'm a Mac-literate. The machine was initially meant only for work but it was used to do mininal work and maximum play of SIMS3 in the office, for the last... let's see... 6 months?
I'm ok with the desicion made. I'm both Mac & PC proficient anyway. So... sitting in place of the old Viewsonic 22" monitor now, is the 'new' old iMac 24", bought last year, with loads of leg room as the cpu under the table has been removed.

My table now look neat and good yay?
If you're wondering what happened to the anti-mac person who bought an iMac for work... Well... Nothing happened!
The anti-mac person just happily continued with his weak PC and never once try to explore the OS environment, let alone do work on the super glossy and blinding screen.
In the end... the iMac is now added onto the Mac-lover's list of Apple gadgets owned.
p/s: Can't wait to build another 'mini' apple empire like I used to when I had my Powerbook Titanium in Curtin. This time... I'm going high tech!!
Couple of nights ago, I finally bought some delectable cakes which I've resisted whenever I'm in the area, TWICE. The cakes in its chiller display, just so lovely and tempting! I'll just let the pictures justify for its sweetly-cutesy yums!
Strawberry Cake.

Black Forest Cake.

Mango Mousse.
The bakery is located at Tampines 1.
Next time I'm in the area, I'll go try its neighbor competitor!
Stay tuned :)
Remembering Michael Jackson
I stayed up all night watching 'Remembering Michael Jackson' on E! Entertainment channel.
[MJ Memorial LIVE Blog, video streaming & website]
(You can imagine I'm zombified now at work...)
I've never really seen a memorial service that's out of our culture.
As many know, our culture commonly don't really hold memorial services like Americans did.
Then again, we are talking about one of most influential figure in the world, beside in the music industry.
I may not be the biggest fan of MJ, I do love his songs and his works.
With his songs, accompanying me in happy & sad moments from a little girl till now,
With his music videos, that brought discovery, bonding and laughter, from trying to imitate him,
With his voice, that taught me awareness of the less privileged, and what's going on in the world.
Like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson will always be remembered and missed, through his music and the legacy he left behind. With someone who did so much for the world, and so little for himself, he will never be forgotten.
Strange as he may seems to be and strange of what he did, who are we to judge his actions when we couldn't accomplish as much as he did. Respect that he is who he said and showed he is. Respect that he did what he did. Respect that he converted to Islam. Rest in peace...
The best and my fave Eulogy of the Memorial Service.
The Route to Recovery.
My dear husband had a misfortune freak accident.
He broke his left forearm while in the mids of a game of paintball.
No no, the game is not dangerous.
Like I mentioned. It's a freak accident.

James & his little device of "torture".
No lah... the device helps to keep his fingers up & straight.
Now, in his 8th week. We've looked elsewhere for other alternatives to aid his recovery. With all our frustrations from the hospital on his recovery matters (no, I'm not gonna repeat the whole saga nor their attitude towards us for trying to transfer to another hospital), we've successfully transfered everything over to RAFFLES Hospital (as of this week).
Previously, we've been contemplating seeking Acupuncture treatment. The constant nagging of our mums' concern and encouragement, sway James to give it a go. Now he seems happy that the treatment works very well for him. From his first session, he felt a huge difference especially in his first 2 fingers. (He could even twitch his thumb a fair bit!)

As told by James, each acupuncture session is painful.
And that came from the man whose threshold for pain is very very high!
And since, he feels strongly that the physio therapies he's been receiving previously, lacks the specific care he requires, we also decided to seek another physio therapist that can work hand-in-hand with the Acupuncturist from RAFFLES.
Of coz, wouldn't it be better for him to receive a higher-level care and follow-ups from 1 specific Specialist at the Orthopedic Clinic (rather a different consulting doctor each time we went for his follow-ups at the previous hospital), which located directly opposite the Chinese Medicine Clinic.
Again, we're in great hope that all three departments can work hand-in-hand to steer his recovery on the right route with huge success. And keeping everything under 1 roof, allows us to lessen our frequency to the hospital. (Last week, we were at the two hospitals respectively everyday!)
At least now he's relief and more confident of his recovery, for ever since we started the acupuncture treatment, a few encouraging comments and a few solutions the Acupuncturist advised us, he had not been depressingly upset nor losing sleep whenever he worries for his future, of his left hand, especially his career future (even the aching pain has lessen).
On a lighter note :)
I know its amusing to some, and informative to others, below are 2 x-rays of his left forearm.

On the day he was admitted into A&E.

Latest X-ray, as of 1st July.
And yes... as usual with his morbid antics. My dear husband would love to receive a t-shirt from me, designed by me, with only his x-ray on it. -faint
Designed in 300 minutes...
It's been a long while since I last blogged.
What's everybody's been up to lately?
(I noticed a few blogs seems on hiatus mode!)
I couldn't sleep last night.
And its only 4 plus in the morning.
Yeah... I've past my sleeping hours and I couldn't sleep anymore.
Soooo... since I was clearing the folders & files cluttering on my desktop,
I decided to do a quick skin with something I had found and held on for a pretty long time.
I thought it's gonna be a long process...
But I was done, all designed, skinned and coded in almost 5 hours time!
FWAH... I just impressed myself! LOL
Normally I would take at least 24 hours or days to complete a skin.
I really like this desktop wall alot.
I had it on my iBook & on my PowerBook.
It's pink, with wings and most of all... with kitties!
Not to mention... its rare to find one with short hairstyle... to reflect my 'now' hairstyle too
kekekekeke
I've been clearing, re-organize and de-cluttering things lately.
(I think since last Decemeber.)
The wardrobe, my beauty collection, my bags collection, my laptops & desktops, my desk, my music collection, my cupboards, the storeroom, the fridge, the kitchen, my shoes collection, the van, my office desk, the house's safety kit & medicine box, and some parts of my room back at my parents' place. (All in that order...)
And now... my blogsite :)
HAPPY TWEET DAY...
It's nice to have people celebrating birthdays with you.
This year, I'm kinda not really looking forward to my birthday coz I'm just a year away from the big 30! I was hoping for a quiet, lonely one so I can 'delay' the effect of the fact that I am 365 days to turning 30!
But dinners and birthday cakes and pressies are always welcome ^_^
Ever since my maternal grandma's passing, no one bothers to cook me birthday mee sua with egg. When she's unable to cook, she always make sure my mum cooks the bowl for the birthday girl. (Eh... my mum thinks I married liao... so no need liao loh... I reckon she's just lazy...)
James decided to drag me in the mids of the night all the way to Bedok market and have a bowl of te gua mee sua, for this year's birthday. Though a few hours late and totally different bowl of mee sua, still, it's the sweet thought that makes this year's birthday slightly special.

The girls were wonderful to let my wishes come true by having the celebration at The Oasis. They also include mini surprises and warmth on a lonely birthday, as this year, it seems I was reminisces my childhood birthday celebrations alot.

Thank you babes, and to all for your birthday wishes.
Each of you make my day for the entire weekend!
Love you all!!
In case you were wondering what James got me for my birthday, as simple as I'm always am... I insisted for a Chicken Treat quality roast chicken for my birthday present from him.
The man cooks with lots of heart and effort. Though it didn't turn out as good as he expected, or close to Chicken Treat's flavor, it was a great taste to me, and definitely to the kitties!
The chicken lasted us 2 days half, till James complained sick of eating same food two days straight, we decided to shred the last 1/4 of the chicken and treat the cats. For the 1st time, I shared my pressie with my babies :)
How delightful to see the little ones eating in joy!
Updating the iTouchy
I've been waiting pretty long to play games and apps on my iTouch, given that it belonged to one of the first few batches that arrived in Singapore. (You can imagine how boring my 1st gen was compared to the 2nd generation models.)
As I wait and wait and finally totally forgotten all about the matter (think that was last year), I just spent my last 2 hours plus (and counting), going through the apps and especially games, after updating to the latest software!
(Stumbled upon the new updates while surfing apple sites becoz I was waiting for SP3 to finish installing. My com nearly died... Spent 3 days finding solutions and fixing it. Reluctantly, now its updated with SP3, and all's working fine, except for my IE7 and the system a tad slow. I haven't tried doing heavy graphical work on it yet... whatever the case, ain't looking forward to.)
I miss traveling on MRTs and Buses.
Coz now I'm driving most of the time, I won't get much chance to play with my "new" toy...
Missing my (new) baby...
I haven't officially make known to many people yet, except for those who managed to see me in it, or had to be driven by me...
We got a VAN! - big grin
Yessh... you heard me right, a van.
As in, a commercial vehicle; a diesel consuming vehicle; a manual gearbox vehicle.
It's been a month plus now since we got the van. We've been pretty much driving it everyday. Correction, I've been driving it all the time...
But now I'm missing my TweetMobile like as if I'm missing someone who's out-stationed!! (Yesterday, we sent it to the service center for its 1st maintenance appointment and won't be getting it back till tomorrow. Btw, the frickin' service center is in TUAS!!!!) James just missed the convenience of having our own transport.
Most men would say, their car is their wife...
I say, my van is my other baby, after the kitties, after James. (eh, hubby gotta be first lah...)
p/s: it is I who named the van TweetMobile.
Just to irritate James... like how he would usually irritate me.
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
M.A.C's Hello Kitty Official Ad...
This is what one friend sent me...
"Hello Kitty Mild, meet Hello Kitty Wild! Sweet and innocent or out on the prowl: when she's good, she's very good, but when she's bad, she's unmistakably M·A·C! The icon adored by millions around the world is causing a commotion with our special, limited-edition collection of colour, finishes, glitter and shine, and a fanciful range of exclusive, It-Kitty accessories: the season's most sought-after collectibles!" ~ M.A.C.
Okay... The video is nice, dreamy and pretty. Not until the male Hello Kitties appeared started to freak me out alittle. I suppose they are trying to mature Hello Kitty... in all aspect!!
Oh... by the way... the same friend smsed me that the collection has launched today, in Singapore! Maybe tomorrow I go kpo... kekekeke
M.A.C's Hello Kitty (Limited) Edition Series
I'm never a Hello Kitty fan... but sometimes, in the weakest moments, I get sucked into all its cutesy-ness and bought some stuffs that I never could find any use of.
I was trying to catch up on my reads on all things pretty pretty... I cringed with goosebumps when I came across this...

Of coz, curiosity flooded. Their official ads looked promising, and quite chic.

Here's the whole load of more Hello Kitty merchandise, only this time by a cosmetics company! It's like a little girl's Hello Kitty makeup collection that's only available at a Toys'R'us store, being repackaged for grown-ups!!

And you know what... the accessories that's included in this limited edition series, are sooo darn cute!! A few caught my eyes :)

The Entire Collection.

I'm actually quite impressed. I'm actually attracted to the packaging designs. I'm actually itching to own a few items from the series. And I'm not shy about wanting these stuffs, coz they are pretty and stylish, and usable in real world!

Now ladies, before I finish this entry to start some scrutinizing and possibly some bidding-happy... Here's some interesting pictures of the launch, from the same blog I took all these photos... :)

The Remedy to a green-phlegmed cough, is Vanilla Ice-cream.
Back in the days I was only 45kg and lighter, whenever I had snacks when I'm sick, I get the taste of the cane.
About 10 years ago, my dad suddenly proclaimed that one can only eat ice-cream to relieve sore throats. I thought he was making such a statement so he'll have umpteen excuses to get me buy ice-cream for him (note* Expensive ice-cream brands like Haagen Daz and Ben & Jerry).
Of coz, according to him, it was his doctor's orders.
Now, We still stick to such self-relieving methods. Only I found, the best ice-cream to relieve a very sore throat is plain old vanilla ice-cream, which doesn't leave you with more stickier phlegm after a session of self-healing.
And yes, I caught a cough bug, which left me burning with fever on and off, and both ears itching from inside my head and a constant building up of pressure that's enough to drive me migraine-y crazy, since last night.
I strongly suspect, it must be from that Indian boy (nope, I'm not racist here, its a fact) coughing at my face on the MRT on Wednesday, with his mum staring at me with disgust of his son's coughing and offered no words of apologies.
For God's sake, cover your mouth and cough next time!!
And that's how virus spread, with people like them, who has no consideration for others.
An Officially New Year, A Brand New Skin,
and A Lunar 30 years old tweety.
and A Lunar 30 years old tweety.
Kekekeke... how's everyone...
GONG XI FAI CHOY!!
And wishing a FAT PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR to all!!
Sometimes, you'll get so sick of things you do regularly...
During these times, you just wished for short-cuts.
I'm at a stage where I'm sick of doing some things the hard way,
and constantly sourcing for alternatives...
So, I thought go for something that I rarely (or never) do for a skin...
And here it is...
Yeah, the entire week I had it up,
and take time to tweak to my likings...
I cant help with the lags... (sorry)
coz I didn't designed it.
Meanwhile, for dearest like Qing, who's broadband-bytes counting,
I see what I can do....
And yesssh...
I'm a '5th day of the lunar new year' baby...
Apparently, its also the birthday of the God of Wealth.
Hm... And in my parents' & grandma's (if she was still around) eyes,
I'm officially 30 years old!!!
(By the count of the lunar calendar, 1 more year is added to your age.)
Whoppeeeeeeedo
